We live in a world where the vast technological evolution creates a new environment in the communication’s department.The evolution of the Internet and its continuing rising possibilities, along with the transition from Web2 to Web3, changes drastically the way an information is transmitted. We could argue that in a sense these changes define a new world in media and communications.As a result,it was inevitable for journalism, a profession that is linked with gathering, assesing and presenting news and information to embrace all these changes. This new period that has been developed altered completely the very structure of media and it affected the journalist’s profession in depth as it was a call for taking up new roles in the world of communication. Digital Journalism revealed a whole new phenomenon of producing and recycling news. This high-speeding transmission of information added more to the problem of distortion , the lack of critical investigation and the distribution of news giving birth to a new phenomenon called Churnalism. Journalists in general had to confront the effects of such a phenomenon as it was crucial to protect and preserve the profession and its principles. Several questions can be arised as whether new technologies can be an ally or whether new ways can be found to protect the context of an information and eventually its originality. All the above, trigger huge concerns for journalists. This research is seeking new technologies we could apply, in order to give answers to the above matters. None the less, such tools can not still be found so as to provide us with solutions concerning these problems. Another question that is examined, is the reaction of the public eye towards the phenomenon of recycling news and the impact of that reaction on the media. Can the public react and affect the media practices? On the other hand, we examine the weakness of Internet communication to evaluate the current situation and react by finding ways to deal with the above issues. The Web’s effect not only affects the quality of journalism but also the finances and especially the income concerning this sector. The following research showed that the means of communication in the greek reality, respect the source of information and its originality. The genuine source of the text is mentioned 90% of the cases. However, it is unclear how this practice is economically beneficial for the domain of communication itself, as also for the journalism. Concerning all the above, it is urgent more than ever, for the Media producing authentic context, to protect that source and also find new ways and methods to preserve the originality of the news and secure it from distortion.
